I'm looking for any infomation on the family name HABY. I think it might be Scandinavian
I saw a "haby sofa in an ikea catologe" and I ruled out German and Polish.

Could it be Haaby, thats a fairly known surname in Denmark.

i think Haby is a small city i Germany, but not sure though.

I'm sure this is a little late, you probably found all the info that you needed, but my madaine name is Haby from Texas. Catroville, Tx is where the Haby's settled from Alsace Lorraine (between Germany & France). It is my understanding that there were 4 brothers that came, one came ahead and then sent for the others and settled in Castroville, Tx, west of San Antonio, around 1850's. The whole family tree has been done, so if your a Haby, your related to all Haby's. Now, the name might have changed from the eurpean spelling, possible Habe'. Letme know if you would like further info, I could direct you to the keeper of the tree.
