Looking for any information on the Insane Asylum in Wichita Falls, Texas. Does anyone know if they have records available, and how to access them. Also do they have their own cemetary. Please let me know if anyone knows how to find out about the Isane Asylum, and is it still in operation. Could be called the State Hospital today. Thank-you.

Wichita Falls State Hospital is in Wichita County.

You must have the oldest living relative contact for information to be released (in writing). They will not release the information to anyone else. Also, must know Name and Birthplace (I had to submit) of Patient, approximate dates they were there and the names of their parents and their birthplaces. If they died in the institution, their death record will not be found there. You will have to write to Austin, because all deaths are investigated by the state. I do not have that address. For more information call the Wichita Falls State Hospital. Good luck!

Marsha,

I am interested in your Foster family. Does the following family look familiar to you:

William Alfred Foster b: May 1845 in MO
wife: Nancy Q. Mcdonald b: Jul 1849 in MO
married: 17 Dec 1868 in Fannin County, TX
CHILDREN:
M.E. Foster b: 1871 in TX
J.W. Foster b: 1874 in TX
James A. Foster b: Oct 1882 in TX
George W. Foster b: Jul 1885 in TX

I am wondering if the James Foster who died in 1964 in Wichita is the same one in the family listed above. The birthdate and name matches. I would love to hear your comments. I am interested in his mother and if she was a McDonald.

Carl Dean was my great-grandfather and Lula my great-greandmother. My grandfather was Floyd Dean. My father is Joe Dean.

My great-grand parents were divorced. He had been married before, possibly, and maybe afterward.

I'd like to know if Carl Dean had any other children. His full name I believe was Andrew Billy Carl Dean. He was a left-handed carpenter on oil batteries.
