Does anyone have information on an Allen Jones b. abt. 1820 in TN? He is found on the 1860-1880 census in DeKalb, Dist. 11. Living nearby in 1860, is a James Jones b. abt. 1780 in NC. Also living nearby is a Thomas P. Jones b. abt. 1818 in TN. I am trying to find out if any of these Jones families are related to my Elizabeth Jones Allen, b. abt 1815 in TN who married Archer Allen in DeKalb in 1838.

It is my understanding that James Jones is Elizabeth Allen's father. I was wanting to make contact with you and see if you had gotten any futher back than Arch Allen. I have not been able to.

No I haven't gotten any further back on Arch Allen. I was hoping there might be new information online about these families. Did you ever find out what county in NC Arch was from? It seems likely that the Jones and Allen families came to TN about the same time. There is also an Elizabeth White (b. abt. 1800 in NC)living with her daughter Caroline, who may also be connected to these families. She is found living near Arch in DeKalb in several of the census.
