I have some information on Chief Menawa and his descendants. I am not sure how accurate it is. Can someone give me Menawa's information and his descendants to the Campbell family?

My line is through Elizabeth Campbell, who I believe is Asa's sister. How is Charity related to Menawa? Is Charity's last name Yoholo? I have them listed as brother-sister.

Charity,
In your message you talked about Elizabeth and Asa are brother and sister. Are you talking about Asa P or Asa R Durden? I am doing research on the Durden side.

Thanks,

Surnames: Menawa, Campbell
Today, I am starting my search for my Indian hertitage, and after speaking to a cousin, I learned that Nancy Campbell was the daughter of Charity Menewa. John Campbell was possibly the husband of Charity, at one time, although, he apparently died before Nancy's birth. We are not sure who Nancy's father was. Any help would be appreciated. I wonder if you've had any response pertaining to the Campbell/Menawa connection, other than those posted here. Thanks so much

No response accept the ones posted. I have Robert David Campbell being the husband of Charity. Its possible they could have had a daughter named Nancy, but I do not show her in my list. I show Charity's children as Elizabeth Campbell, Asa Campbell, Lacy Campbell, Elijah C. Campbell, Joseph Campbell and John C. Campbell. I also show Charity's last name as Yoholo. Chief Menawa I think was her half brother. If you like I can email you a Word document of what I have.

Recently I finished my linage on the Menewa/Campbell. You had asked about Asa. His last name is Campbell. Robert David Campbell b. about 1784 in GA. was his father. His mother was Chairty Yoholo b. about 1790. Six Children were born: (CAMPBELL), Elizabeth, Elijah, Lacy, Asa, Joseph, John C. Asa Campbell married Mary Ann Ryder, Daughter of Katy Weed and Frank Ryder. the GD. of Kate Weed (daughter of Chief Menewa) and Rueben Weed. GGD. of Chief Menewa. I am working on Chairty Yoholo. It's starting to look like this family is connected on BOTH SIDES back to Chief Menewa. Hope this helps.
