I have been working on cemeteries in the area for a few years when I can find the time. I am finalizing the northern 2/3rds of the county. Some cemeteries are Pritchard family plot, Buffalo Lake Covenant, Buffalo Lake Original, Buffalo Lake Lutheran, Hillside, Zion Swedish, Louriston township, Havelock township, Mandt Lutheran, Jevnaker Lutheran, Big Bend Lutheran, Kviteseid Lutheran, Milan Methodist, Skogrand family plot, Immanuel Lutheran, Watson Lutheran, Zion Lutheran, Reynolds family plot, Crane family plot, Brono Lutheran, Silvernail family plot, Trinity Lutheran of Havelock, Saint Johns Evangelical German Lutheran. And one other west of Raymond. It started around 1940. I have digitized the Watson Centennial book. That one has a copyright issue. But I can do lookups. I also digitized the 1939 WPA cemetery book for the county. Wait a minute. I would have added that Raymond one. It is Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Some cemeteries on borders are the Golden family plot and Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. It was located in Lone Tree township but the moved the church and cemetery one mile east which is just inside Kandiyohi County. Each one will have death index lookup at the courthouse. They will not let me has access to the newer death indexs because they contain social security numbers. I will have to ask them if they are protecting SSNs of survivors. If it is just the deceased SSNs then show them the SSDI index.

Hi Michael,

I would really appreciate it if you could look up George H. Dix and his wife Susan M. Dix (don't know her maiden name). They were 75 and 69 y.o. in the 1885 census in Rosewood, Chippewa, Mn. They lived sometimes with their daughter and son in law William and Eliza Bradley. Their daughter and her family are in the 1895 census without them. anything you could do would be wonderful!

Thanks, Sue P.

I am not sure if that is your data. I have this down for my next trip to the courthouse/library. I recall seeing that name in the area. So hopefully a large headstone. 1885 to 1895 timeframe means difficult to read markers and maybe no obits in newspapers.

Thanks so much. I found the death of one great, great Grandmother in Wood Lake, Yellow Medicine County because there was a new town clerk and she decided to look in the basement! I really love the geneology angels that are out there.

Thanks again,

Sue P.

There is no one named Dix on the death index from 1870 to 1945.

George Dix also shows up in Meridan township, Steele County, Minnesota. 1865 census

That worldconnect page I posted has his daughter.

Eliza Bradley buried in Owatonna township in Steele Co.

Like I said earlier, they might be in Sunset Memorial in Montevideo Minnesota. It will be many months before I have that one indexed. With no death date, not a chance at looking for an obit.
