I am trying to find the death record of Hannah Barnes who was a patient at the Anoka State Asylum for at least 25 years. From @ 1897-@1924.
She was born in 1855 in Michigan and was married to a Warren Barnes who lived in Iowa.
I am thinking she died there and it was recorded in the county death records. I don't know her maiden name ...actually that is what I am looking for.I just found her at the hospital on the 1920 census. That was really a find. I knew there was a mystery about her!

If anyone has easy access to look this up for me I would appreciate it so much.

Her death record is found on the death certificate index at the Minnesota Historical Society website. You can order a photocopy of the death certificate through their website, for a reasonable fee. I am going to the Anoka County History Center today to look up a death for another lady. I will see if they have any info on your Hannah Barnes

Thank you so very much. That is kind of you. I think she had a sad and hard life, so I am interested in finding out anything I can. I am hoping her death record can give me a maiden name.

I photocopied some pages out of a book the Anoka County History Center has on deaths at the State Hospital. I copied the page that has Hannah Barnes.
