An update on this research. I found the following obit for Lillian's mother which implies that Lillian remarried. It was hard to read but the new last name looked like Byrins but it could be some other variation. This might imply that Elmer had passed on but it would still be nice to hear what happen to Elmer, Lillian, and the two children.

Van Buren Street, a resident of Sioux City for 49 years, died Friday afternoon at a hospital.
Mrs. Krause was born March 22, 1880 in Pomerama, Germany. Before moving to Sioux City about 1908, she had resided in
Plymouth county, IA. She was married to August F. Krause August 27, 1901 in
Lincoln township,
Plymouth county. He died in 1950
She was a member of
Calvary Lutheran church.
Survivors include three sons, Clarence of
Hinton, IA, and Lawrence and Fred, both of
Kingsley, IA, four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Byrins of North Sioux City, S. D. Mrs Edna
Shaw of
Denison, IA, and Mrs. Viola
Freed and Mrs. Arlene Little, both of Sioux City: 18 grandchildren, and 11 great -grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Nelson-Berger north side funeral home.
