Hello Im trying to find out about my relatives. My grandfather was named Copeland Lightbourne Jr. of Bermuda his father was Copeland Lightbourne Sr. of Bermuda. I was talking to a great uncle of mines and he told me that his grandparents(my great-great grandparents) where from Turks Island then came to Bermuda and had my great grandfather I'm not sure what year they left Turks Island or what their names are but I really would like to find out who my relatives are.

I came across a will for a Benjamin Lightbourn dated 1 jan 1790 on rootsweb that list many Lightbourns that I believe tie into Turk Islands re: salt trade as slave owner. You may try that. Good luck. The name Copeland rings a bell with me. My Grand father was Willian Noel Lightbourne and he had a brother Roy...I don't remember the name of the others. I was told that Turks & Caicos was where his family was from. I am just getting into the search of my family

My father's name is Kenneth Hilgrove Lightbourne from East Harbour, or Grand Turk, South Caicos. He had three brothers. My father is 91 years old. His brothers name are: Claudius (nickname Claudie), Stanley(nickname Baba-deceased), and James (nickname "Bar"). He had two sisters: Girleen (nickname Neenie-deceased) and Irene. His father's name is James Lightbourne and mother's name is Macietta Harvey Lightbourne(I think that is how you spell it). His birthdate: 24th May, 1921. He was married to Annie Lourie Penn from Lorimers, Middle Caicos. She is now deceased. His family roots go back to Bermuda. Hope this help a bit.
