Jessie Florence
Hooper was born December 22, 1893 in
Hazelton, KS to Robert and Nancy
DeArmond Lusher and passed away Saturday, December 16, 1989 in the
Sayre Memorial Hospital.
Florence moved with her parents to
Oklahoma Territory in 1898, attending school at the Dog
Holler School in the Red Moon community. On December 22, 1915 she was married to
Orren Bailey
Hooper in
Cheyenne. They moved to Reydon around 1937, living there until moving to
Cheyenne in 1961 where they made their home. At the time of her death Mrs. Hooper resided at the Twon
Hall Estates in
Sayre.
She had been a member of the Church of
Christ for a number of years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1968; 1 son,
Orren B. Jr., in 1937; 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
Survivors include 2 sons, Payne
Hooper of Burkburnett, TX,
Parvin Hooper and his wife, Lenora of Perryton, TX; 3 sisters, Ruth
Cantrell,
Woodward, Okla., Roberta
Ridgeway,
Higgens, TX, Alice
Wilson of
Elk City, Okla.; 1 brother, David
Wilson of Ft. Supply, Okla.; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Mondya, Dec. 18, 1989 at 2 p.m. in the cheyenne Church of
Christ with Willard Dox officiating. Interment followed in the
Cheyenne Cemetery,
Cheyenne,
Roger Mills County,
Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral
Service of
Cheyenne.
