I am researching early Fur Trappers prior to the Gold Rush and want to know if the McKay Camp on Canyon Creek of Trinity County was named for Tom McKay of the Hudson Bay Trappers.
I would also like to have names of any early Fur Trappers that came through Shasta, Trinity, Klamath, Siskiyou and Del Norte counties with the Hudson Bay Trappers.

All I could find for the McKay Camp. It was named after a John Mc Kay. We don't have names listed for fur trappers. If you need anymore info. Contact the History center at the Trinity Museum: www.trinitymuseum.org. or E-mail:jake@trinitymuseum.org
