Wetzel County Haughts

R. Lowe  (View posts) Posted: 12 Jun 2000 12:28AM GMT
This may tick a few people off!
But my Dad is from Pine Grove,Wetzel County and my Great Grandparents were Benjamin Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Haught - Deem.
My Mom was born in Ritchie County.
Her and my Dad said that the Haughts in Wetzel were no relation.
My Mom will be 84 this year and she has a good memory.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks, R. Lowe

My dad is WV Broadwater and he was born in Doddridge county and is familiar with the Ritchie county Haughts. In fact, he remembers that a Sommers Haught lived with his family during the school year so that he could attend school. Dad is 80 and also has a pretty good memory. My dad married a Wetzel county Haught - Mary Haught of Pine Grove. He also agrees with your dad that the Ritchie county Haughts and the Wetzel county Haughts were not related.
