I have a great uncle Adolph Lessard who was born on Sept 16, 1853 who married a Elizabeth Dorn on Jan 1, 1877 at Chippewa Falls, Chippewa, Wisconsin . He is the brother to my Great Grandfather Edouard Charles Lessard. I have acomplete history on the Lessards going back to France. Steve hope to hear from you soon.

I came across your posting about Adolphe Lessard quite by accident. I have Lessards in my family tree, and many of my family moved from Quebec to Ontario and then to Minnesota. Some moved from Minnesota to Chippewa Falls, WI, but I have never seen a reference to any Lessards there before.

I don't have Adolphe in my data base; my Lessards start with Louis, born 1789 in Yamachiche, married to Marie Brousseau.

Can you fill me in on the Lessards in Chippewa Falls?

Neal I find that our connection go back to Etienne Lessardmarried tomarie anne poulin Etienen was born Apr 1, 1653 There are a lot of cousins who still live in Wisconsin but we have had very little to do with any of them for years, I have a picture of Adolph Napoleon, Peter and my great grandfather Edouard taken on the stoop of Edouard farm home in the early 1930's I beleive that this was the last time that they ever saw each other. Do you have any info on JL and MH? When and where born, married, died? Or who their children or parents where?

Hi Steve, Although your message about Adolph Lessard was from 5 years ago, I hope you will receive this post. I am a great-granddaughter of Adolph Lessard. He owned the Lessard Hotel and Saloon in Hayward, Wisconsin.

I have written "The Tales of French Pete," and have a prepared a rough draft of the story of my Lessard ancestors.

I would love to receive a copy of the photo of Adolph, etc. on Edouard's front porch!

I recently found and visited one of Edouard's descendants: Don Lessard, formerly of Minnesota, and now lives near Traverse City, MI. He was excited to hear from me and learn of his ancestry going back to Quebec in the 1650s.

I do have a photo of Adolph and his wife, when they went back to Quebec to visit. Other relatives are in the photo--including his parents, Jean-Baptiste Lessard and his wife.
