The gfather of my ggfather was Karlo ZENGEVALL, b.cca 1750 Slovakia, d.1814 Osijek Croatia. Looking through tel books I found a few ZENGEVALD in Vechec, Zamutov, Hlinne. So I am assuming that that is possibly where the family originated. I would like to know whether there is a possibility of someone- for a fee- to research this link for me. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Also I am intrigued by the name itself. Any ideas?

Since the LDS-Mormons have filmed the church records, you might consider looking at the films yourself. Of course would be much easier or faster if you would know a village of your ancestor.

The Ellis Island website is listing ZENGEVALD and ZENGEWALD. To me the name seems German.

there are two Zengevald families still living in Zamutov. As for Vechec or Hlinne, not sure but both villages are relatively close to Zamutov.
