Paul:

From what little I have seen of your post, I am
sure we are distant cousins. I don't have my information here at work so
I will briefly give you some inflo.
My great grandparents were Paul FABER and
Mary STUPFEL. Francis (FRANK) FABER was my
grandfather. My mother was Margaret Anna FABER
daughter of Frank FABER and Laura WALPORT.

I have an obit on Joseph FABER and a land
record on John Herman FABER in Bloomfield
Montana in 1909-13. His name was not mention
in any obit of the family after Joseph's death.
So looks like he was disowned.
By the way Paul and Mary FABER are buried in Alma Center, WI along with
their eldest daughter Mary FABER. George FABER
and some of his family are buried in West Bend
WI. Most of the ACKERs are in Dane County, WI.
Paul FABER was in the civil war. I have his
pension records. His parents names are Paul and Mary
FABER from Baden Germany. He had a sister named
Josephine who married a George ACKER and are
buried in Ashton, WI.

I also have some information on the Wisconsin
ACKER's and those in Alsace. They are mostly from
Memmelshoffen in Alsace as are the STUPFEL.

Email me at pfturner@visi.net for more inflo.

There are several distant cousins of ours who
are researching the ACKER, FABER, WEISS,and
STUFPEL.

I can connect Acker family that lived in Dane Wisconsin to the original Acker family that were Eckhardt and came to New York in 1710 as part of the Palatine immigration. I am related to this Acker line through my gggg grandmother.

Hello, My gggg - George Acker, Ashton, WI came from Alsace-Lorraine to America around 1770's. The son named after the birth father or grandfather always carries the suffix first (I), second (II), etc..., OR Senior (SR) or Junior (Jr). Can any one tell me if the ACKER surname is Germanic or French origin? Is there a 'ACKER' coat of arms (crest)?

Surnames: ACKER FABER,
I have a George Acker, born June 19, 1827 in Memmelshoffen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France, Died September 16, 1910 in Ashton, Dane County, Wisconsin. George was married to my great grandfather Paul Faber's sister Josephina Faber. Paul was married to a Magdalena Acker a cousin to George.

George's parents were Jean Franz Acker, Sr. and Anne Marie Acker, a cousin.

You mention Ashton, WI, Most of the Ackers who settled there came from Memmelshoffen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. Some settled in the Franklin, WI area as well.
Their orgin is Alsanion. You can find the coat of arms by doing google search for Acker coat of arms.
