I am searching for any information on the DeRuine family. I am not 100% sure of the spelling. I do believe they originated from Hainaut. Have managed to take family tree back to 1700's in America, unable to obtain further information regarding Druen/Druin/DeRuine/Deruine. Any leads would be appreciated. Please email me at merculady521@aol.com

Hi,
I have Samuel and Maria DeRuine DeMarest in my family tree.
I just saw your message.
I have the name spelled as DeRuine.
I come through their son David dob 1680 or 81.
I don't know any thing of the DeRuine Family.
I saw on Obama Genealogy that David and Marie Sohier DeMarest were his 11th great grandparents. See they were my 9th great grandparents. So I still wonder about that.

Deborah, it is interesting that the DeRuine name is included in your family name. Do you have any knowledge of where it came from? Hainaut, excuse my geography, is that France? I had believed at one time there was a small town called DeRuine in France based on a tidbit of information I had come across. If you live in Hainaut, can you check maps and such to see if there was a small town by such a name in the 1600s? Any help would be great. As for Demarest, I will check the family tree that I have to see if there are any similar names there but it will be awhile before I can get b ack to you on it. Thanks for responding to my post.

Hi Carolyne,
I really don't know about these places in France. I live in Fl,but I am from Mich.
For some time now I had been doing research on the Demaray Family.
I haven't got as far as to the DeRuine Family yet so I really don't know any thing about them.
One day skipping around on the internet I saw some one said something about David and Marie Sohier DeMarest being Obama's 11th great grandparents. See to me David and Marie DeMarest are my 9th great grandparents.
Some one said Obama has both the DeMarest and DeRuine in his family line, but so far I don't think that has been confirmed.

I don't know that Obama is related, if so, it would be thru his mother and I don't have any idea of what her name is. I do not show him listed on my family tree whatsoever and hope not to. I do not care for the man myself, just something about him that I don't trust. But then, I was for Hillary anyway :)....I will let you know what I find out about the Demarest but as for now my program is giving me problems and I am unable to verify anything for you, when I figure out the problem with the program I will get you the info. Please do not misunderstand about Obama, but I just don't get good vibes off of him, nothing to do with the race card.

There is a website for Obama's genealogy it's www.wargs.com/political/obama.html
I don't think I would vote for him. I'm not sure who I would vote for it doesn't seem we have good choices to choose from.Obama would come through David's son Jean .
