Burkburnett (special) Graveside services for Hannah A. Bender 83, who died Thursday August 5, 1980 in a Wichita Falls Nursin home, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Kiowa Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
The Reverend Bart Montgomery, pastor of Hammon First Baptist Church, will officiate. Owens & Brumley Funeral Homed of Burkburnett, Texas has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bender was born January 22, 1897, in Hammon and had lived in the Burkburnett area since 1912. She was a member of the Holiness Church.
Survivors include two sons, C.C. and Eugene J. Bender, both of Randlett, Oklahoma; two dauhters, Jessie May White of Phoenix, Arizona, and Effie Bell Watson of San Jose, California, California; a brother, Charlie C. Dykes of Skelleytown, Texas; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

My surname is dykes. I am from ky. I had two great unkles that left ky to ok many years ago. they were henry clay dykes and nathan hale dykes. their parents were james dykes and arty salyer. Just wondering if theres a connection?

Hannah Arty Dykes Bender is the oldest daughter of Henry Clay Dykes and Eliza Jane Hall Dykes. Hannah Arty was named after both of her grandmothers. She is my fathers sister. She is buried, along with her parents in Red Hill Cemetary,
Hammond, Oklahoma. Her obit is on line.
