My name is Kenneth M. (Mike)
Dilmore. I am 51 years old. I am the son of Albert E. Dilmore (
Mendenhall, MS) grandson of Plumber
Dilmore, great grandson of
Elias Dilmore and great great grandson of
Abner Dilmore. Letha, Johnny, Irene and Eugie were very close to me. The date is May 21, 2006 and I’m stationed at Bagram Air Force Base, Afghanistan, serving with 2BN 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne). I have done a little research into the family. Wesley, John, and
Elias Dilmore were in the Civil War together. They joined A Co. 6th
Mississippi, The
Rankin Rough and Ready, at
Cato, MS. Elias was wounded at
Shiloh Church, Wesley died of sickness and John fought the whole war. Elias met his wife at the army hospital who was a nurse. I have visited Elias’ grave at
Magee, MS. He has a Confederate grave marker at the foot of his grave. You can reach me at two addresses:
