Researching the Hood family history from a family bible owned by Mrs. Churchwell Hams in Washington Cty.,GA. The history was written by Joseph R. Hood, Wedowee, Ala. in 1915.

Much interested in your information on Joseph R. Hood, I assume the R stands for Robertson and wife's name was Hattie Elizabeth Dingler.

Do you have names of his children?
His father was Joda Alexander Hood, do you have his children's names and/or names of his bothers?

Hi Mr. Traylor,

The Joda Alexander Hood in my family's parents are; William Hood, Jr. and Polly Baker. I do not know of any other children that were born to them. Sorry-------perhaps, we have some connection even tho this doesn't work out. So far, I have located a great--------grandparent (don't know if it is 4th or 5th) from Amelia Cty.,VA. His name is Thomas Hood and he had a son William Hood, Sr. -----I am missing a link then I believe my next parent was Byron Hood and his son was Joseph Walter Hood. I do have a letter that is signed by a Joseph R. Hood, however, I do not know his wife's name nor his children.

I am researching the same Hood family, but my son-in-law is descended from Josa Hood, Joda A. Hood's brother. I have some information, found in a book in Salt Lake City, that takes me back to Thomas Hood.

M.E.Hood - married John Akridge Nov 17,1895 in Dale county ,Alabama at her fathers home.
gave birth to a son General Zory Akridge on 9-4-1896 in Coffee county ,Al She died before 1900,as John was listed as widowed with 1 son in the 1900 census.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I don't have any info on your relatives. Mine went from VA to Ga. To my knowledge they were never in Alabama
