Does anyone have any knowledge of the RAWLINS family of St. Kitts, in particular the descendants of Stedman RAWLINS (died circa 1803) and his son, also Stedman RAWLINS. Please contact me directly. Thank you.

I'm presently veiwing microfilm of births and census for St. Kitts 100 years ago. I'm looking for HARRIS /FRANCE but i'm also taking note of Rawlins for a friend of mine. It's some time after your date but I'm continuing to look for that name and others.

Yes, Stedman Rawlins is in the ancestry of Rawlins. We have quite a bit of data on Stedman and other siblings and descendants.
My grandfather was born in St. Kitts and died in Brooklyn, NY.
I am greatly interested in this surname.

There were many Stedman Rawlins in different generations. Sorry, but I do not have a Nathan Rawlins in any of my records. What period of time was this?
May I ask you, who were your grandparents (Rawlins). In my husband's ancestry, there are Rawlins from St. Kitts who settled in England.

Yes my grandparents are RAWLINS. My grandfather NATHANIEL RAWLINS who was born 1923-1985 and son Terence RAWLINS(my father) born 1946-2003 were the only two settlers in England. The remaining still in ST KITTS whom i am trying to contact at present. I don't know if any of this helps but thank you very much for responding.

Re: Stedman RAWLINS of St. Kitts
My grandmother wrote down quite a detailed family tree of her parents - Josephine Rawlins and Conrad Watson. (If I am reading her writing correctly!) I believe Josephine was the daughter of Richard (Dicky)Rawlins, who was the son of Parson Rawlins, (father of 22 children!). I think Parson Rawlins was the son of Stedman Rawlins, Sr. and brother of Stedman Rawlins Jr. and a Dr. ? Rawlins. (My grandmother, Marjorie Watson, was born in St-Kitts, and married Haddon Shand and then lived on the island of Montserrat.) To quote Granny: "Stedman Rawlins (Sr.) came from England as secretary to Mr. Wade (landowner and Commissioner). Stedman Rawlins, Jr. was a Colonel and married an English girl, came out in charge of Brimstone Hill Garrison and had 7 sons, all lawyers. Parson Rawlins lived in Nevis, buried in Charlestown Church, had 22 children."
There's lots more where that came from!

Hi, my parents are from St Kitts. Do you happen to know if there was a Charles Dinzey Rawlins or James Rawlins amongst Stedman's seven sons, which would be the line that my family came down through. I think that Stedman (my great-great grandfather) had a sister named Ann or Grace Ann. If you happen to know the names of Stedman's seven sons or anything else, that information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Liz.
