I have a copy of GenSmarts that I have not installed on my Current computer. I am running FTM 2010 with Windows 7 - 64 bit version.
Has anyone tried it with a similar configuration?
Any problems with it?
Does it help?
Just thought I would check before I install it.

'Running GenSmarts 2.1.1.83 with:
Windows 7, FTM 2010, Dell E5400 LapTop 64bit
Appears to run just fine.

1.) However The Goto Family Tree Maker F2 function does not work at present, GenSmart reports

"Sorry, but at the time when this version of GenSmarts was released, Family Tree Maker did not provide a Vista compatible interface to implement this "goto" function. You will need to contact The Generations Network to find out what, if any, plans the have of providing such and interface. An example of a simple interface can be found at
http://www.GenSmarts.com/gotoInterface.html"
If memory serves, when this feature is operational It will bring up the GenSmarts person you are searching for in Family Tree Maker.
Note: GenSmarts must be launched 1st, then FTM.

I have not used GenSmarts to it's full capability.
2.) However I've found it useful in the suggestions of where to look next features.

Also it generates a nice People Report which can be easily cut and pasted for submission when you are submitting help to other researchers that may be searching the same person(s) you are searching, or if you are requesting help from other researchers.
Online video tutorials are helpful.

Hope this helps.
