I just posted a message about this on the Halloween forum here as I didn't notice the W.VA board at the time.
I don't know how close to the truth that Hollywood movie with Richard Gere was about the actual events surrounding the Mothman, but that movie scared me to bits!!
Being a believer in such things (why not, folks believe in all sorts of things all over the world), I was totally fascinated by this story.
I just wondered if there was more to it than the movie led on, or did the movie really blow thing up for ~ratings~?

Of course the movie was exaggerated. Some people that lived in that area at that time believed it, and they weren't all flakes.
The bridge collapse was a very real tragedy! The sorrow and pain of that sort of thing is difficult to imagine.
