My Great Grandmother, Anna Vrzal arrived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1882. She was the daughter of John Vrzal and Elizabeth Kubat and came to the United States with Thomas Nemec and his wife Veronica Kubat. Anna Vrzal was born on July 26, 1876 in the village of Stitov. Would love to hear from anyone with connections to these families or who might advise me on how to research these Czech (Bohemian) families. Thanks!

Dear Jim,
I can find for you the information Vrzal, Kubat, and Nemec ancestors in the archives in the Czech Republic. For example if they had any siblings (if yes their names and birth dates), who were they parents, their occupation, who were their grandparents etc.
If you are interested in my offer you can contact me by email:

I noticed your post and though it was seven years ago, I hope that you will respond to me. I, too, have the Vrzal, Kubat and Nemic Names in my ancestry. I am trying to fit the pieces together so I may not be able to help you. Perhaps we can help each other. I also have a photo of Anna Vrzal (circa 1910)

What a surprise to have a response after such a long time! I have learned a few additional details regarding my Vrzal, Kubat and Nemec ancestors. Anna Vrzal married Bertram Kircher in 1897 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She did have two brothers, James and Joseph follow her to Milwaukee in the later part of the 19th century. Anna's mother, Elizabeth Kubat was the sister of Veronica Nemec (nee Kubat). There were other Vrzals including Anna's parents who stayed in Bohemia. Does any of this fit in with your family? What can you tell me about your Vrzals? Details about the picture you refer to?

Joanna,

I assume you are with the Tom and Betty Kappeles. I am not real keen on giving phone numbers out through these forums. However, I have an old hotmail address for you that I lifted from one of Marty's emails. I will send you a message and see if it still works. I have been able to collect more Vrzal information but have not assembled the entire family history as of yet.

Hello again. I realize that I have not followed up with you. I'm sorry. I wanted to let you know that I am still working on my Verzal tree. I will scan/send what I have, though it is not much, if you have an email address. As for details about the phot.. the picture was taken at the A.F. Schultz Studio in Milwaukee. Joseph, James and Anna Vrzal are pictured. My father has a large picture of Isador and Anna too. I would love to see what you have come up with.
My email is jlnofear@hotmail.com.

Nice to hear from you again. I would love to have a picture of James, Joseph and Mary Vrzal together. I have very little information regarding the Joseph and James Vrzal families. I have one picture with Mary and Bertram Kircher with another couple whom I assume to be either James or Joseph. Without a reference photo, I can not identify the other couple. I have some other photos of Mary Vrzal and Bertram Kircher. I also have a couple of Vrzal/Pilvousek photos of people I can not identify. I also have some Vrzal family data gleened from Czech church records. Let me know your priorities and I can pull some information together.
