Look up your surnames in a book I have History of Adair Co. I did not see the names you mentioned but there were alot of the Walkingstick Family Mentioned and a couple Thornton's mentioned you might want to look in this book it may be at a Adair Co. Library. There is an article on page 726 THE WALKINGSTICK FAMILY by Ollie M. Walkingstick Rooks you may also try finding him. I could not find him on the internet White Pages.

samuel walkingstick was one of James w'sticks children,I believe most of Samuel's family relocated in the Claremore area. This family MAY have also changed their name to Walker although i cannot validate that.

Hi Michael,
I am having trouble accessing your web tv site. Is there any other way of accessing your information? I am searching James and Annie (nee Tucker) Walkingstick. Thanks. Debbie

Oginali, sometimes, those web addresses are hard to log on to.try simply searching the words, Walkingstick of the Cherokee, on your internet search browser.then, you will see a list of subjects including my webpage, try that and if that does not work,we will try something else.thank you for your interest. I hope you can also provide more info on annie tucker. I believe i have more notes on her in my files, i will get back to you on this.blessings!

Greetings Michael, I was able to find your web site and have spent the last two hours reading through it. There are two things I think are wonderful about geneology; the cousins we meet on the way and the history we can learn. I just received the Court of Claims application for my Grgrandfather Berry Walkingstick and found the names of his Uncles, Ezekiel, Wilson, Ben and John, his father Samuel and his grandfather James. Is this the same James on your web site? Your information shows Samuel married to Elizabeth Thornton but Berry says that his mother was Margaret McCarty. Do you know if Samuel was married twice? I had located an Anna Tucker on the 1851 Census of Cherokee's east of the Mississippi for Gilmer County, Georgia but she was born in 1836. Possibley our Anna was a sister to John Tucker who is listed as Anna's (1836) father. I have no other information for Anna but will forward anything I find in the future.
My line is:
James Walkingstick b ca. 1800
Samuel Walkingstick b ca 1825
Berry Walkingstick b ca 1840
Martha Ann Walkingstick b 5 May 1882 d 5 Aug 1964
m John Logan Reno b 18 Apr 1870
child of Martha and John-Elijah J. Reno b 11 Aug 1903
Cecil Harold Reno b 11 Jan 1929 (my father)
I have more information if you would like it as well as documentation. Let me know if any of this would be a help to you. I am happy to share what I have. I am awaiting a copy of "Cherokee Proud" hoping that it will give some more places to search. Thank you for the work you have done on this family. I am proud to say I have Cherokee blood. Although I can not be part of the Five Civilized Tribes on paper I know in my spirit I am one of them. donadagohvi
