For my family research associated with the Paiute Indian Wars (1862)
Does anybody know where I could locate copies of the
INYO Register for the following dates or someone who
could assist me?

For your research I would suggest trying to get hold of a book called "The Boys in the Sky-Blue Pants" by Dorothy Cragen. That will have a lot of the history of the Indian Wars and the relocation of the Indians. Also, I thought The Inyo Independent was the only newspaper operating at that time, but now I'm questioning my memory. Anyway, the Independent was printed in Independence, which was really the hub of activity then. The book I mentioned above talks above California Infantry who were stationed at Fort Independence and were originally sent to the valley because of troubles with the Indians.

Hope this all helps! You can find the index to "Boys..." at http://www.cagenweb.com/inyo/

The Register printed stories later based on, I believe, interviews with survivors. The articles are referred to in Gunfighters, Highwaymen, & Vigilantes by McGrath.
My GGGrandfathter hired Van Fleet and Douglas to care for cattle stolen (eaten) in 1862. I am trying to corroborate some additional information I have about it, along with some additional characters involved. (see list below)

Abraham Klauber, Ben G. Mast, Henry and Peter Vansickle, Francis Mandlebaum, Charles Henry, William Donaho, Ed Cummmings, George Plank, Allen Van Fleet.

I am Allen Van Fleet's GGG grandaughter. I have some info on his arrival, life and involvement in the Indian wars in the Owens Valley. Let's collaborate.
