Thanks for the link. A quick check only showed a Nash who came from Ireland. Here's my interest in the Nova Scotia Naases: We became acquainted with Steve & Beckie Naas of Maine and after 30 yrs. were unable to find a connection between our Naases and his. We traced ours back to the 1600s in the area of Asselbrunn and Bullau, Hessen Darmstadt, Germany. There is misinformation about Johann Christoph's (of Nova Scotia) birth date being Sep. 8, 1728. We had a professional genealogist find out that the birth record in Bad Durkheim for Sep. 8, 1728, was in fact for a Daniel Christian Naas who died Oct. 10, 1723, child of Johann Fridrich and Justina Naas. Johann Fridrich and Justina had 2 other children, Maria Francisca and Johann Daniel. The genealogist searched the Bad Durkheim records from 1717 through 1733, and did not find any records for Johann Christoph Naas.
In 1995, Steve Naas said that his cousin Gregory Nash, of Lequille, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, told him that Johann Christoph was born in Wurzberg and this info came from Heidelberg and that Joh. Christoph is in our family line. I wrote to Gregory but never heard back from him. Steve said that the name was changed from Naas to Nash on Gregory's grandfather's birth certificate and was never corrected. I was hoping to find someone who might know Gregory Nash or at least know of the info he had found out about Johann Christoph.
Thanks.
