I am researching my family tree (Cowin side) and I am looking for the above people who were born and married in the Isle of ManTheyy had at least one son William who was born in 1843 in Lackley IOM. William moved over to Hoylake UK and was married to Mary Ann Cowell (b.1843 d.1876-78) 1 child - and then Isabella Cubbin (b1846, Kirk Partrick IOM) 5 children. Is anyone related to them or know who John Cowins parents, grandparents etc were?

Oh how I wish! My John was married in1811, I can find many possible fathers circa 1880, but the priest listed no mothers at that time. If you find a way please reply to my e-mail address.

I'm sorry, but I just go back to a 1812 marriage. John Cowin & Peggy Hog

Hi to all the cowins out there!. I have traced my cowin line back to c1676 in the Isle of Man with the help of Pauline, a distant relative who now lives there. I am now looking for family in Hoylake Wirral who are related to William Cowin b.1814 d.1917 Hoylake. We ran a chimney sweep business in Hoylake for over 100 years. I am trying to locate family who may have info, photos, stories etc about the times and family members. Other interests are William's second wife Isabella and the family down her line. Again, any info will be greatly appreciated.

How lucky you are, my John was married in 1811 to Peggy Hogg, I am not able to go back any further as the priest did not give enough details in the 1880's to fathom his parents, there are many John's born in that time period, but which one.is mine?
Their son John was bp 10 May 1812 in St. Matthews Doughlas. Their son James bp 26 May 1816 is my ancestor, he married Jane Cluas 19 Nov 1842.

Sorry I am not able to help you, any help I can get going back on my John Cowin would be appreciated.
