Elizabeth,
I have done a little tracking of your Elsberry family through William Wilson Elsberry, son of Thomas, son of Ayers.
My interest lies with William's marriage to Emma May Reid. They were in or near Dixon or Knox counties, in Neb. They had a daughter, Pearl. William / Wilson and Emma divorced and Emma remarried, shortly after, to William H. Schenck and they moved out to Yakima Co., WA.
I have a photo of Emma and daughter Pearl Elsberry. I'd be interested to know what you know about William / Wilson and daughter, Pearl.

Dear Carl: I'm extremely glad to hear from you! Are you descended from these Elsberrys?

I'll be busy until the weekend, but then I'll look through my information and try to come up with some things to share.

Elizabeth,
I'm a Reid descendant not an Elsberry descendant. Emma May Reid was a distant cousin to me. Her father and my GGG Grandfather were brothers. So, I'm kind of off on a tangent, here. While tracking down all of the descendants of my Reid family, I sometimes have to dig deep. No pun intended.
I'm trying to locate what happened to William W. Elsberry and Emma Reid's daughter, Pearl Elsberry. I know that Pearl moved west from Nebraska to Washington with Emma and her second husband, William H. Schenck, but I can't locate who she married or if she had children.
I have collected some Census info and cemetery info, etc. on this family, and I was wondering what you know.

Thanks for the reply!

Elizabeth,
Since last time, I've discovered a little more about Pearl Elsberry. Another Reid-Schenck-Elsberry-Mccoy researcher found this for me.
Pearl Elsberry married a William A. Hosmer in WA before the 1930 Census. He died on Mar 28, 1985. Pearl died on Mar 12, 1982 in Yakima Co., WA. So far I only know of two children, Lester and Richard Elsberry who were both born before the 1930 Census.

This is what I have, so far, about William Wilson Elsberry:

The William W. Elsburry, below, may be Emma M. Reid's first husband, Pearl Elsberry's father. He is listed as divorced in the 1900 Census and is Emma's generation.

Any chance that the ??? A., age 9, is Muhaldah "Hulda" Ann Elsberry? It could also be spelled Mahaldah. I saw in a world family tree that she was the daughter of Ayres. It has her birth as 1850.

My aunt says that her grandmother was the first non-native american girl born in Marshall county, IA. I'm not entirely sure which grandmother. This information seems to add up though as if she was that girl, she would have been born near 1850 and the first girl born in her family, which was one of the first in the area, though appx two years after their arrival.
