Hello,
I am looking for my family. I know little to nothing about them. More specially, I am looking for my grand father, "ANTONI KRUSZELNICKI" - the name may having several various spellings. I am in Ontario, Canada. Antoni (I think) immigrated to Canada in 1928 and arrived in Quebec. He would have been 30 ish (born around 1898). He was married to an "ANNA" (I was told her maiden name was Sawychuck or something like that). I found a record suggesting she may have immigrated in 1930. They are both listed as being POLISH although I have always been told that I am UKRANIAN. I was told that they received Western land grants as they became farmers in Saskatchewan for a while. I am hoping to find out if any relatives still remain in that area of Canada. I was then told that they moved to the Toronto Ontario area where Antoni worked in a carpet factory (?) for several years, before taking up work in St. Catharines Ontario, in the General Hospital as a janitor. He retired, and no one knows where he went to. My dad (Thomas Vallance (Kruszelnicki)) was told that ANTONI had always wanted to go back to the Ukraine to retire and die in his homeland. Anyone have any suggestions on how to search re-emigration records or cemetary records in Poland/Ukraine? Anna was burined in Hamilton ON, after many years we discovered she was buried in a completely unmarked grave site. They apparently had 14 children, and maybe more. I know some of the names were: Thomas, Peter, Mike, Billy, Olga, Mary, Rose, Tilly, Sophie and more? I was told there was 10 girls and 4 boys. I know that Mike, one of my dad's brothers lives in Brockville Ontario and had his last name shortened to "KRUSHEN". I know that Bill(y) lives in St. Catharines, Ontario Canada and I belive that Sophie and Olga live in the Toronto area. Rose passed away a few years ago? and I know she had family out in Western Canada. I think Mary lives in Hamilton and I belive I was told that Tilly is deceased. I know my father was the youngest, born in 1944. So, many of his sibilings have great great great grandchildren. I am the only child of Thomas. I am having a hard time finding any information as a lot of the children (both boys and girls) changed their last names even before they got married, and I also do not know most of their married names. I am hoping to meet my family and learn where my grandfather died and was buried. It would mean a lot to my father and myself if anyone could 'spread the work' and help us in any way. Thanks for your time.

Do a Kruszelnicki search in http://www.ourroots.ca/e/ Also check out Saskatoon's Woodlawn Cemetary in http://www.rootsweb.com/~cansacem/index.html If you click on RESEARCH at the top of the cemetary site home page you will find links to the Homestead records and the 1911 census which contains 27 Kruszelnickis. Let me know how you make out. Butch

Hi,
There are Krushelniski's buried in the Hubbard Holy Cross cemetary. This cemetary is on this website. Just click on any of the cemetaries listed on Nov.3,2008 on this message board and scroll down to Hubbard. Not sure this any help, there are still family members living in the Ituna area. The town of Ituna has a website, you might want to post on their message board, in fact the webmaster is a Krushen.
www.town.ituna.sk.ca
Good Luck.

Happened to see your posting. Did you look at the Baptismal record for Michael Kruszelnicki in "Quebec Vital & Church Records (Drouin Collection) I believe he lived in Brockville, Ontario.
