Does anyone have information on any of the Seaman family living in what is now Brooklyn, NY in the 1800s? I have been trying to trace my branch of the family back from a family in Flatlands (Canarsie).

I am trying to find information on a Delia Seaman that married my ggggrandfather George A Rogers and had a son George Henry in Williamsburgh, Brooklyn, NY 1853. They moved back to CT as that was where George A was originally from. Do you know what part of Brooklyn your ancestors lived in?

The seaman family I'm looking into had a daughter Delia born aprox 1830 NY, Delia and George A Rodgers had a son George Henry born 1853 Williamsburgh, Brooklyn NY-I don't know the vicinity relationship of the Flatlands to Williamsburg

Hi, My Seaman family has a Delilah Seaman b. abt. 1839. Her father is Conklin Seaman Sr. and her mother is Susan (Snedicker)or(Snedeker). They lived in the 1850 in 2nd Dist 19th ward, Brooklyn, NY. In the 1870's they lived 17th ward, brooklyn, Kings Co. NY. Conklin Seaman was a butcher. I don't know anything about my Delilah Seaman or who she married. Do you think this could be the one you are looking for? Sally

Thanks for the information, I don't think that your Delia Seaman is old enough, if she was born around 1832, it would most likely be the correct person. I'm not sure and don't have the records handy with me but will check over the weekend
