I am inquiring about the current location of Galician census records. I read online that census' were taken in
Galicia in the years 1857, 1869, 1880, 1890, 1900 and 1910. None have been microfilmed by the Latter-Day Saints as far as I can tell. I have written to several archives in Poland including those in
Krakow,
Tarnow and Rzeszow and they responded that they do not have them. I am going to Poland in May and I would like to go to the places where these records are found and obtain copies of the records that have information on my ancestors, if possible. My ancestors lived in fairly small villages near
Tarnow, Rzeszow, and Gorlice. Perhaps the census records are located in municipalities closer to where my ancestors lived, but I doubt they would be located in the villages themselves, as the villages are so small. I would appreciate any information that anyone might have regarding the current location of the census records of
Galicia. The villages in which my ancestors lived were Biadoliny Szlacheckie and Niedomice (near
Tarnow), Lipinki and Rozdziele (near Gorlice), and Mrowla (near Rzeszow).
