I'm trying to follow a clue in my family line, and your information is interesting. Do you know any kind of dates on the Patrick or Mary you mention? I have a Mary McKee/McGee/Magee that I'm trying to trace. I've always thought it was spelled McKee, but came across something this weekend to suggest McGee. Did any on your McGee's spend any time in Pennsylvania or Illinois? I don't have any that were in Iowa, but they all appeared to have died in the 1850's. The Mary in question was born 1789 either in Tyrone Co., Ireland or in Chester Co., Pa. There is a Patrick b. abt 1788 in Ireland, also in Chester Co., Pa in 1842 then in Wabash Co., IL. by 1843-45. Mary moved to Il about 1840-1843. It's a long shot for me, but worth a try.

Sorry, I don't have any information on Mary McKEE other than
family lore which suggests that she came to the US with
her sisters Margaret and Elizabeth and was married
to Cavenaugh. As far as where Mary lived, I have not idea other
than possible in New York or Iowa.
