Hello, I"am trying to find out what happened to my grandfather, John Grant. I have a news article from South Bend that states he was hit by a truck on 9/29/1934, near Columbia City. I Haven't been able to find a death cert. I have tried South Bend, Columbia City, and Indianapolis. No Luck.....Any Ideas???? THANK YOU....

This may not be the correct John Gtant, but the article I found of that date says he was struck on "Road 31 near Columbus, Indiana and his mother, Mary was notified of his death." The age given for this man was 51 and stated that he was from North City. Columbus, Indiana is in Bartholomew County. If this agrees with the age of your John Grant, you might try there.

Hello Carole, Thanks for the imfo... I'am going to check on it...Some of the imfo is almost the same as I've found..He had a sister named Mary of North City Illinois.
