EXELEE 'LELA' PITTMAN - DeBary, Fla
ExeLee "Lela" PITTMAN, 28, of DeBary, formerly of New Cumberland, died Aug. 6, 1999. She was born in Weirton Dec. 25, 1970, a daughter of Norman and Sandra Snyder Pittmann of New Cumberland. She was a funeral director but recently was employed with the Gencore Asphalt Co. She was a 1989 graduate of Burgettstown High School,earned an associate degree at West Virginia Northern Community College and graduated in 1994 from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Besides her parents, she is survived by a son, Anthony Villella of De Bary; a sister, Jeanie PITTMAN of Columbia, Md.; paternal grandmother, ExeLee PITTMAN of New Cumberland; and maternal grandparents, Willard and Louise Johns Snyder of Weirton. She was preceded in death by her paternal Grandfather, Earl PITTMAN. Services were held Sept. 1, 1999, at the Nixon Funeral Home of New Cumberland. Private burial was held at the convenience of the family.

My mother's name was also Exelee. I wonder if you know the origin and/or meaning of the name?

Hi, I am Exelee Pittman's sister Jeanie. I was wondering if you found out any information on the name Exelee? My grandmother's name is Exelee as well. Thanks. Jeanie

No, sorry have not found out anything about the name, though my uncle has said he thought it was German....my vague childhood recolletion however was of my grandmother saying her student by that name was Eastern European. Good luck!

I didn't realize this but maybe the name originated from the flower, I found that there is a flower called "Exelee". Think?

Jeanie,
Would this be a peony named "Exelee"? If so it was developed by my paternal grandfather, Bill Krekler, and named after my mother. If it is another flower I'd be interested in knowing! Maybe it is the origin.

Bonnie are you the same person I may know, my name is John Shedlock, My brother is Ron, sisters Linda, Sandy all Pittmans from Tom Pittman and all from Weirton. If so Who was this I knew her didnt ?
