Hi M. Salomon,
1- I would like to do some comment concerning your
2002.04.22 message. The Lavallée name change to Vallée
in early first part of the first generation. The first
childrens of Marie Thérèse Leblanc and Pierre Lavallée
where named under Lavallée but shift to Vallée later on.
Charles Lavallée (son of Pierre - Marie Thérèse Leblanc)
is perhasps the only one remainning with that family name.
2- Pierre LaVallée m. Jan. 12, 1665 Notre-Dame de Beauport, Québec (the act was register at Québec city but was
celebrate at the chaptel of Beauport). A contract was made with notary Paul Vachon on 16 Nov. 1664. Parents:
Madeleine DuMesnil and Pierre Lavallée from Saint Saens,
Normandy.
3- Genevieve Baugy and Michel Vallée m.Feb 3, 1712 Beauport.
The contract was done the previous day (Feb 2) with the
notary Jean Robert Duprac.
4- M. Louise Marcoux with Charles Vallée m.Oct. 27, 1749
Notre-Dame de Beauport Québec.
5- Charles Vallée with Marie Madeleine Lavigne m.Feb. 3,
1777 Vaudreuil, Québec.
6- I dont know after this generation, but "Les Cides" should
be repleace by "Les Cèdres".

I hope this information will help.
Regards,
Marcel Vallée

This is a very good question. I don't know where they
where born. Also, the mariage register (the key point) has
never been found so far (As far as I know). They where
not married in Saint Saens (30km NNW distant from Rouen).
Rouen is possible, there where some Lavallée families living
there. The couple Pierre Lavallée and Madeleine DuMesmil was in Saint Saens (or near by) because it baptize at
least 10 childrens. Pierre is one of them. He was baptize
6 June 1636 in Saint Saens, Goodfather was Guillaume
LeGrand and Goodmother Catherine Carrol. His brother Jean,
who came whith him in New France, was baptize 29 Aug 1640 in
Saint Saens, goodfather was Louis Tassin Flanchet and
goodmother Jacqueline Moulin. The childrens first name
are (in order);
Marie, Jean, Jacques, Louise, PIERRE, Marguerite, JEAN,
Robert, Adriane and Louis.

However, there is a strong possiblity that Pierre married
another women after the death of his wife (Madeleine).
There is a Pierre Lavallée who married Suzanne Savary
on 31 july 1646 in Saint Saens. 3 childrens are from this
couple (in order);
Laurens, Catherine and Louyse.

Marcel Vallée

Hello Marcel,
Thank you for replying so promptly to my question.
I had received the information on the Vallee family tree from the Georgian Bay Metis Assoc.. The information from them noted a Marriage in St. Jean de Rounen, Normandie but there is not a date. The birthplace was not mentioned but you information helps tie things together.
Thanks once again for your helpful information.

Hello Marcel, I reviewed with great interest your postings on the LaVallee Family in 2003. I am researching Nicholas Francois Vallee, b. 5 Mar 1717, Quebec married to Marie Grenier. There have been as many as 11 children identified b. from 1750 to 1770. I doubt the birthdate of one possible child born to Nicholas and Marie when she was age 46. Would your history reflect a child, Nicholas Francois Vallee, b. 1770 to this couple? Birthdate? This Nicholas may have been married to Marie Josephe Pare and Marie Simard, both unproven. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Andrea
