One Elizabeth Clay died in Grayson county in 1952. She was born Elizabeth Wigley, possibly Lamar county, TX to James and Mary J Wigley, she married B F Curtis in Lamar county in 1888 then married John H Clay about 1906 probably in Fannin county as that is where the family of John H Clay was enumerated in 1900 census and possibly where B F Curtis died. The Clay/Curtis family was enumerated in Fannin county in 1910.

There is no cemetery transcription in Grayson county for her or John Harrison Clay. Two of the daughter in law's are listed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Denison as well as Charles Wesley Curtis and second wife.

Lizzie had two known sons with John H Clay; Hubert Odell and Henry H Clay, middle name possibly Harrison and five with Benjamin Franklin Curtis; James Daniel born 9 July 1889 in Paris or Gober, Lamar county was the oldest. He died in Castro county in 1965. Oscar Curtis born in 1900 died before 1910 census. Elizabeth's death certificate should tell which cemetery she was interred in.

I noticed that you have the Self surname listed. Is there any relation to Upton, David or Sam Self? I have been updating our local obituary files and came across an article that might be of interest if there is a relation.

Have some Upton's but ? on David.
Sam E Self and Sam Doss Self are kin along with several Samuel Self's.
My ancestor was Andrew Jackson Self son of Adam Moore Self and am related in some form or fashion to the Self's of Honey Grove and also Self community of Fannin County.
