I am researching my sons' father's family .

Their grand father died serving in the US Army in France in l945.

Their great grand father Rudolph Henry Swarowsky immigrated to Alaska from Austria. (His parents were Johan Swarowsky and Maria Krebs.)

Rudolph H. Swarowsky married his first wife Nellie Boswell Game at Cardova Alaska in 1919.

Rudolph married Martha McDonald at San Joaquin Co. California in 1935.

I beleive Rudolph died in June l966 in Fairbanks California. I understand he had two daughters, one who was a red head.

My sons both are red headed. We (my sons and I)don't keep in touch with their father, but are very interested in family history. My youngest son is especially interested in finding out if he is any relation to the conductor and composer Swarowsky from Vienna. He studied under a conductor who had studied under Swarowsky at a Aspen music festival. That is the first time we saw the name spelled exactly like we spell it.

This is my sons great grandfather. His son Rudolph Thomas Swarowsky was killed in action during WWII. We know he had a step sister named Ruth, a sister by the name of Elaine, and a half sister whose name I can't remember at this time.

There are no births in the CABI for SWAROWSKY. You might ask for help with an obituary on both of the above deaths - it might give you surviving family members names.

Would you be thinking of Conductor Hans Swarowsky, Vienna?

I posted the query in 1999. I have just received a reply from Tina Pope ,she is my sons' father's cousin. Daughter of their grandfather's half sister Francis. The query about Hans , well I was just curious is there a connection between the two families? Martha is Francis's mother. Rudolf Henry is her father. Thank all of you for answering.

this my sons' tree, the David and Jennie are actually Boswell. Nellie's children from her marraige to Boswell. I posted my query in 1999 just received a reply from Martha's granddaughter this last week. Patience pays off. Thanks to all for helping. I am just curious if Hans Swarowsky, the conductor from Vienna is any relation as that is where Rudolf is listed as being from.
