MAHLON A. BUTLER
Mahlon A
Butler, died at his home on 26
Sussex Street, Friday, night after a lingering illness. He was born at
Augusta, October 21, 1861 and was in his 79th year. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Butler and has lived in
Sussex all his life. Mr. Butler was a paperhanger and house painter. He is survived by his wife Florence
Baylor Butler, a daughter Mrs. Charles
Waldron, of Vineland two sons, Ira and
Mahlon Jr. of
Newton. There are fifteen grandchildren. He was twice married, his first wife was Carrie
VanSyckle, of Baleville. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at his late home and were in charge of
Capt. Carlson and Lieut. Moody of the Salvation
Army of
Newton. Interment was in the family plot in the
Newton cemetery.
