Looking for info. on Albert Barnum, b. abt. 1868 in Canada. He and his wife moved to the US around 1892 and were naturalized citizens of the US in the year 1905. They spoke both French and English fluently. Wife's name is hard to read, but may be something like Alasena(?). They had a family, children b. in NY. Their names were: Edward, b. abt. 1896; Authur, b. abt. 1900; Henry, b. abt. 1901 (my gr-grandfather); Albert, b. abt. 1910; and Bertha, b. abt. 1911. Any info. is appreciated! Also, Henry's wife's name is Gladys (unknown maiden name), b. 1902 in Canada, French speaking, arrived in US 1911, and was naturalized 1919. She died 1970, and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, Herkimer Co., NY. Henry and Gladys had a son named Joseph Henry, b. 1924 d. 1984. They had a daughter named Elizabeth, married a Miller.

I cannot find any Albert BARNUM in the 1881 census but since you said that he was fluent in French, maybe this family from Quebec is a possibility. (Note: Walter A, BARNUM)

Interesting find. Thanks for the info. I am going to research this further! I am also looking for info. on a LaCelle family from Masson, Quebec. Gladys LaCelle is the earliest relative I know of. She was b. abt 1903 and came to the US in the year 1911. This is all the info. I have on the LaCelle's. Thank you again! Any help is appreciated!

I believe Albert Barnum was married to Alexina ( Edna )Seymour ( my great Aunt ). Alexina's parents Joseph and Marceline Seymour are also buried
in Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer. Also buried there are her sister Louisa and her nephew Albert L Seymour.

I believe that Albert Barnum's last name was Bonhomme before coming to America.
