Looking for ancestors and descendants of Joseph and Mary ZALAR Mary was born in 1885 in Slovenia (Austria then) They lived in Forest City, PA and then Joliet Ill.

Joseph ZALAR (b. 1880) had a nephew, Frank DRESSLER (b. 1887), who was staying with them in 1910 in Joliet, Will Co., Ill. This must be Joseph's sister's son.

I have no idea what Joseph's sister's name was. I found his nephew's name in the 1910 census.

Did this Joseph Zalar have a brother Frank who married Mary Smerdell?

He was a teacher in Yugoslavia.

My father then married Enid Bruning and they had two children, Enid(me) and Nanette. Joseph's second wife already had one child, Robert. We are all living in Illinois. My uncle Dick, Joseph's only surviving son, knows much history about his parents.
