My grandfather :
Raimondo Sodano came to the US via Sicliy. I understand he had some brothers who also immigrated to the US. He settled in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He died in the early 1940's. He had 2 children from a first marriage Alphonse and Pierrina, who both lived in Sicily (Caltinasetta)before marrying my grandmother (Vincenzia DiForte). They had 6 children. John, Charles, Francis, JosephMichellina (twins) and my father Raymond. Anyone have any knowledge of possibly being related?
Thanks

Ray Sodano,
I recently read your message on the Sodano message board. Sorry, I don't think we're related. My Sodano family was from Naples and came to Philadelphia in 1902. Gennaro Sodano and Rosina Serpico were my great- great grandparents that came. There was obviously several branches throughout Italy. If you ever see any connection to me please let me know and I'll do the same. Good Luck!!

Hi Heidi,
My fathers family is from Naples and Sumo Vesuva (a small town outside of Naples). My Father's name was Emanuel and my Grandfather who immigrated to New York (Queens) was a butcher and ran a dry goods store. Do you have a family tree? Past this, I know very little except that the family originally came from Spain with the surname "Castillino" and that Sodano means "pennier" or one who is payed in pennies. We believe this refers to the family being soldiers or mercenaries and is consistent with the Spanish word Soldat. Let me know any other information you might have

Hi Michael,
I don't know anything about my family's life in Italy other than they were from the Naples area. Three brothers came to the U.S. in the early 1900's. They came into Ellis Island. Then they eventually settled in Phila. PA area (Bucks Co.)They family tree I have does not go back any further than that. Here is what I know. Gennaro (Henry) Sodano and his 2 brothers George & Frank came to the U.S. Gennaro married Rosina Serpico (also from Naples area) their oldest son was Samuel Sodano, then his oldest son was James Henry Sodano, then his oldest son was James Wilson Sodano, then me. As a fifth generation Sodano in America, it's hard to get info. Since your family was also from Naples area we can assume they were related in some way. But I can't make any connection. Sorry. Hope you find some information in your search. We really need more Sodano's to read these messages. Someone must know some of these answers. Take care and let me know if you find anything else out about our surname or other family connections. Good Luck!!!

WE ARE DEFINITELY RELATED. Maybe we've already met? My mother in law is Mary Sodano (married to Kenneth Bartholomew). Brother is Emmanuel, has a sister Rosie and few other brothers (I can't remmber the names - maybe Jimmy was one?). They are from Vesuvia, father Ralph was a butcher and lived in Queens.
