Gail, My g-grandmother, Charlotte Adeline BRADY was living with the Cornelius O'FLYNN family in thew Jasper County, MS, 1880 census. She married a J.A. Morgan in 1882, but her eldest daughter, Mary Sally is listed in various documents as "Mary Sally BRADY" and Mary Sally O'FLYNN" Interesting??!!

Dear Ms. Fugate:

I was searching the internet tonight looking for some geneology information on several of my family lines and came across your message requesting information on your great grandmother.

My mother, Linda O'Flynn, is the grand-daughter of John Patrick O'Flynn who lived in the Slidell area around the 1960's. He was from a family of 3 boys and 8 girls raised in Jasper County MS and his nickname was Johnny. He and his wife, Vila Finch O'Flynn also had 11 children - 10 boys & 1 girl. All of their children are still living w/ the exception of my grandfather who passed away about a year ago. All deceased O'Flynns, to our knowledge, are buried in the Laurel & Hattiesburg area. The imigrants and their children we think are all buried in the Catholic cemetary at Paulding.

Several of the descendants have been researching the geneology of the O'Flynns and thier families. There is an O'Flynn/Finch family reunion in Laurel the 4th Sunday of every June and most researchers bring their information to exchange back and forth. You and your family are more than welcome to attend the reunion if you like - the more the merrier! At least part of the information that you are looking for should be at the reunion (mom takes her notebook everywhere we go!!).

If you would like to reach us, you can contact Mom at her work number (918)579-7877. If you are unable to attend the reunion, we might still be able to get the info you are looking for to you but we need to know exactly which one of the 8 girls you are searching for.

Sincerely,
Hope Evans
Great Grand daughter of John Patrick & Vila Finch O'Flynn

We are researching our familiy history on the O'Flynn side. We know that our line of O'Flynn's are the ones who settled in Paulding, MS, but we are kind of hitting a brick wall as to when Cornelius, Daniel and Timothy came to America. We think they sailed out of Limerick between 1840 and 1850, but any other information you have on them would be great.

Also, as I mentioned to Ms Fugate, we have an O'Flynn/Finch family reunion every year on the 4th Sunday of June in Laurel, MS. Any one who is related to the family is welcome to come. If you have any research on the familiy, please bring it with you as several of the cousins swap info during the reunion.

Sincerely,
Hope

Thanks so much for the invitation, Hope. I just might take you up on it as I will be down there for our Morgan-Snowden reunion which takes place on the fourth Saturday in June in McLaurin, Forrest, Mississippi. Where and when exactly is the O'Flynn Reunion held? Take care, JUDY

Judy:

The location of the reunion is really easy to find, but is kind of hard to explain. Would you please email me at my personal email address so I can give you the directions. We have the reunion on a lake just northeast of Laurel. Its really a beautiful site w/ lots of tall pines, the lakes and an indoor facility that we use for the meal and visiting.

My personal email address is:

Hope to see you soon!

Gail:

I'm hoping that you receive this. While trying to find a way to get in touch with you, I just found where you were searching for some Morgan's from Jasper Co as well. One of my great-grandfather's (Johnny O'Flynn) sisters married a Morgan from Jasper, Co, MS.

Please email me for more information. My email address is globe.hopper@juno.com

Sincerely,
Hope

Judy:

I found some messages from where you were communicating with Gail Fugate in the past regarding the O'Flynn's. She is from the same line as we are from and I believe that we have quite a bit of the information she is looking for. Do you know of any other way to reach her (i.e. where she's living, etc...). I've tried to email her as well as leaving messages on the board but have not heard back from her. We believe the lady she's looking for is my great grand-father's sister.

Thanks,
Hope

I'm tracking O'Flynn's as well. Here is as far back as I can get. One lead I heard about lists Timothy O'Flynn as John O'Flynn's father with his wife as Sarah (unknown). Maybe Sarah Dennison but that may be the wrong tree.

John O'Flynn, Sr. born 9/5/1848, died 8/8/1919 -- Paulding Ms.

Married Katherine Carr, born 7/13/1855, died 5/24/1916

Their kids were:

James Timothy O'Flynn Mar 2, 1880, died Jan 20, 1968 (married Emma Sebastian Daly)
John O'Flynn, Jr.
Eugene O'flynn
Charles O'flynn
Florence O'Flynn Tarbutton
