I have just began a research on my family history. My GG Grandfather was James A. Mew. He was born in South Carolina but married and raised children in Arkansas. I am trying to find information on his wife or wifes, marriage dates, and what the A. stands for in his middle initial. Thanks for the help!

JAMES AVANDA MUSE(MEW) was born in Horry Co., SC, the son of MCKINNEY MUSE(MEW) and PATIENCE KING. The name MEW/MUSE has been used back and forth through the years. I am using MUSE as descendents of JAMES A. MUSE/MEW brother ABEL born 1841 use the surname MUSE.
