I'm Looking for any information about the Jordal family
in Minnesota, particularly in Grant county. My grandfather
was Herbert R. Jordal, brother of Freemont Jordal of Herman,
MN.

Clare,....Did I ever get back to you about the Jordal Family? I would be interested in anything you have on them. Where 'out east' are there more Jordals? My husband and I,and two of our kids will be driving out east this week-end. We try to go out to the east coast every summer,and my daughter is looking at some colleges.Just to remind you,my grandfather was Herbert Jordal,son of Butler Halvor Jordal,who was born in Norway.Almost all of his decendants live here near Minneapolis,Mn. I am interested in the family history of Herbert Jordal/Jordahl's mother Anna Sophia Sampson/Samson. Anna Maria was the daughter of John Sampson and Anna Maria Nesheim with Nesheim being the farm name. Her name may have been ANna Maria Johannesdtr Nesheim. I have a bunch of other Nesheims in the family I am tracking and wonder if you have any knowledge of her, her parents and siblings.

Re Herberts' siblings, maybe you have since noted this, but from census reported birth month and year and MN death records, it seems that Fremont S. Jordahl and Samuel are the same person.

I am also interested in the Jordahl family history. My husband's grandmother was Elizabeth Valtinson Thompson - her mother, Bretha (Betsy) was a Jordahl. Minnesota - Thief River Falls is where they are buried. I have NEVER been East of Yellowstone Park (live in ID) - any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Jordahl: Ole T. & Agatha Olson are the parents of Bretha (Betsy). They immigrated from Norway.

Hello! Britha (Betsy) Jordahl Valtinson was a sister to Jens Jordahl. Jens was my great grandfather and was married to Serena Torkildson. Jens and Serina's only daughter Sophie was also married to a Valtinson,(Martin, I think). She died at the early age of 22 during childbirth. Jens' parents, Ole T. and Agatha, are buried in the LaMoure Cemetery outside of LaMoure, North Dakota. I would love to share stories with you!
