Last night I found an old book in a pile of my great grandfather's papers.

It will probably be months before it is scanned and transcribed, but wanted to let people know I have it.

Farm Plat Book. Alcona County Michigan 1956.
Rockford Map Publishers

It has farm plats, with farm size and owners names, for every farm in Alcona County in 1956.

Does anyone know of any earlier versions of this sort of farm plat map? Would love to follow my relative's farms back to the turn of the century, and earlier.

The Register of Deeds office may know of any earlier published plat books. I believe that they have plats dating back to the early 1900's in their office. Big old books, you know.
