A number of Mennonites settled around Dinuba, Tulare Co.,CA.
There are two small privately owned cemeteries, within 2 miles of each other, that have Mennonite surnames buried within their gates.

One cemetery was started by the German Seventh-day Adventist around 1917 (that is the earliest date appearing on a headstone). The other is the Mennonite Cemetery.

Hi Elvina.
My name is Suzzanna Lemky. I was raised SDA and when I saw your list I was surprized to learn I am related to about 20% of the surnames listed. including the Toews, Taves, Nuefeldts. I would be very interested to hear what you have on these people. Anything you could forward or relay to me would be great.
Thanks Suzzanna

For more information on a lot of the Mennonite Families in the Dinuba/Reedley area and most of the San Joaquin Valley you might contact the Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies at Fresno Pacific University (http://www.fresno.edu/affiliation/cmbs/) This site also has additional Links to other sources of information.
