The third son, Hartford Moss Daniel, married on April 4, 1858 to Elizabeth J. Williams. They had 9 known children:

1. Isaac Elijah Daniel m. Ester Lee Durrough (11 children); 2. James F. Daniel m. Delia Caldwell (10 children); 3. William J. Daniel m. ?; 4. John Gabriel Daniel m. ? (6 children); 5. Thomas Lewis Daniel m. Amanda Wiggins (4-5 ch) and Sarah J. Benefield (1 child); 6. Elic Newton Daniel m. Hannah E. ? (2 daughters); 7. Lucy Ann Daniel m. Henry Milton James; 8. George W. Daniel m. Adeline Williams (2 children); 9. Marion A. Daniel m. Tiney B. Nolen (6 childrenJ) and Mattie Ashley (3 known children).

Also seeking to find anyone who might have a copy of Dorthy Million Ketter's book that was published in 1992 by Green Dog Press, entitled " Isaac B. Daniel of Randolph County, Alabama and His Descendants".

I am looking for parents of Elizabeth Williams who married H. M. Daniel. I believe she is the sister of William Marshall Williams (m. Emily Caroline Cosper) and sister of wife of Neal McLeod.
Marshall Williams father William Williams, mother Rachel (?). I have always felt these families were related, but do no have the proof. My mother is Irene Williams Sparks. Her parents Ellis Monroe Williams and Savannah Mae Waters Williams, along with countless other Williams' relatives are buried at Smyrna, near Newell. Please contact me

It would have been great to have known who Elizabeth J. Williams' parents were, but unfortunately the book on the Daniel family lineage does not give the names of her parents or any of her own history. Perhaps at some point in the near future, at least one of Hartford Moss Daniel & Elizabeth J. Williams Daniel's 11 children will discover an old family Bible that has her name & her parents / siblings recorded in it so that we may all learn who she was. Since I fall into Lucy Ann Daniel's family line (their 8th child) and there is a family decoration / reunion coming up the first Sunday in May, I will ask around the older generations of that line to see if they have anything recorded in grandma Lucy's Bible. I've heard that she had one but at the moment I don't remember who has it. Will be back in touch if I learn anything. Sorry about the delay in responding to your message. I was waiting on my copy of the Daniel family book to reach me thru the mail.

Could you please also ask if anyone at the reunion knows of any relationship to the Marshall and Emily Cosper Williams family or the Neal and Melissa Williams McLeod family? They are known siblings, and I believe Elizabeth was their older sister. Would be great to finally prove this! Thanks for the help.

Would your Daniel family line have included an "Ed" Daniel who married a "Carrie White"? I am at a brick wall with my Daniel family who did live in Heard/Troup Co Georgia for a time but as Randolph County is so close by just maybe they were originally from that area. My grandfather was James Robert Daniel born in LaGrange, GA and he married Mozelle Camp who was from Randolph County, Alabama so one just never knows. "Ed" and Carrie Daniel had several children: Luther Edward; Willie Mae, James Robert, Vera Aiden, Mary Emma and Curtis Daniel. If any of these names at all ring a bell I would certainly appreciate knowing. Thanks a million, Annie from Rhode Island.

Isaac and Elizabeth are buried in the Daniel Family Cemetery on County Road 451 in Woodland, in the Bethel East Community. Isaac's son Hartford Moss would be my Grandpa (Earl Daniel)'s Grandfather. Marion Andrew was Hartford Moss's son.
I'll tell you all I know about Grandpa's brothers and sisters.
There was:
Howard was married to Lillie Gosdin, they are buried in Cedarwood Cemetery, Section L. and that's in Roanoke.

Marion Ed was married to Reatha H. don't know the maiden name. They are buried in Roanoke or Randolph (same thing) Memory Gardens.

Earl Clifton was married to Clara Electa Huckeba. That's my grandparents and they are buried at Harmony. They had 7 kids.

1) Ara Mae married Brewer Blackmon(Brewer is deceased and buried in Cleburne Memory Gardens in Ranburne), and had 2 Daughters, Susan Diane and June Elaine.

2) Annie Fay (my mom) married Marion Arther Cox and they had 4 kids. J.W., Shirley Jean, H.M., and Helen (me).

3) Eva Dell married Gerald Simpson and had 3 boys.
Kevin Dean, Barry Eugene, and Jerry Wayne.

4) Curtis Benjamin married Julia Willie Cooley and had 2 kids. Patsy Carol, and Randy Joe.(Curtis is deceased) and buried at Harmony.

5) Hoyt Clifton was married to a Robinson woman and divorced, no kids, to Annette Wright, divorced, no kids. To Joyce Gann and had 1 boy named Jamey. He adopted Joyce's son, Billy Gann and Daughter Sarah. So they are both Daniel's. Hoyt is married now to Sue Turley, I think that is her maiden name.

6) Brady was the twin of Grady, neither had middle names. Brady was married to Maxine Steele and had 6 Kids. Laura, Wade, David(Skipper), Marcia, and twins Stacey and Tracey. Brady is dead and buried at Bethel Church in Collinsville, AL

6) Grady was about 3 months old when he died.

Annie, Don't know who she married and don't remember where she's buried.

Rosie Rice married Wiley Rice, they are buried beside their daughter Margaret at Harmony.

Gladys Vice, don't remember her husbands name but she lived at Bowdon, guess she's buried up there somewhere.

Florence Daniel (Lovvorn) Toney, adopted by Dr. Robert Lovvorn and wife when Tiney died from burns after giving birth to her. I don't know her husband's name, but she is buried at Antioch.

Lillian, don't know her married name or where she's buried.

Lola Holloway don't know where she's buried either.

I don't know if Tinie was the 1st or 2nd wife. My mom is still alive but since my daddy had a stroke and she is his main caregiver, she can't keep her mind on none of this for very long at the time. As soon as I find out more I will let you know. I hope this has helped you. I would like to know anything you know.

I omitted adding 1 of Marion Andrew Daniel's children to the list. A son: Henry Daniel. He's buried in Ranburne at Union Hill. I have more information on him if you would like to have it.

I was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of the book "Isaac B. Daniel of Randolph County Alabama and His Descendants" by Dorthy Million Ketter 1992 and it helps add some to the data that you have given but also omits a lot that you gave. I do have some additional data but failed to look at my FTM program before beginning this letter and can post that later. I had looked up the parents of Tiney Nolen and some other odd & ends in those notes. I was especially interested in Marion A. Daniel (brother to my grandmother Lucy) since his second wife was a Mattie Ashley (according to the article in the Randolph County History book). Mrs. Ketter does not have any information on her but I ran down a census report and found that Marion A. Daniel & Mattie Ashley did have children of their own.

This is what is in Mrs. Ketter's book:

Marion A. Daniel, son of Harford Moss Daniel & Elizabeth Williams was born 14 Nov 1883 in Randolph Co. AL. He married Tiny Zeorabel Knoland (or Nolen) and they had 8 children. Tiny, who had been born 13 Oct 1883 or 1878 in AL, died 1 Feb 1918 and was buried in Smyrna Cemetery (**there are also some Ashleys that I am directly related to buried in this cemetery). Marion married (2) Mattie ____, but they had no known children (**send list of those children later). Marion died in 1974 and is buried in the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery. Issue:

Earl C. Daniel, son of Marion A. Daniel & Tiny Knoland, was born 3 Feb 1905 in Randolph Co. AL. He married 8 August 1924 in Carroll Co. GA to Clara Huckeba. They had 5 children. Earl was a farmer and they were members of the Methodist Church. Earl died 27 Feb 1989 in Graham AL and is buried in the Harmony Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery. Issue:

My health has really been bad since the first of the year and I only work sporadically on my family genealogical records. The notes with Tinie's parents I have not yet found but she died between this 1910 census report and the 1920 census report which finds Marion A. Daniel married to Mattie Ashley Lee.

The article in the Randolph County History book gives very little information regarding either wife, and is as follows:

"p.112......Marion A. Daniel, born November 14, 1883, in Randolph County, Alabama. He married Tiny B. Nolen (born October 13, 1878, died February 1, 1918). They had ____ children. He married Mattie Ashley (born June 9, 1892, died April 29, 1976). They had children. He died in 1974. They are buried in Smyrna Cemetery, Newell, Alabama."

There was no person listed as having being the author of this article and the article only listed Hartford Moss Daniel & Elizabeth J. Williams as having had 8 children. My grandmother Lucy was missing from the list of children....(Isaac Elijah, James F., William J., John Gabriel, Thomas Lewis, Elic Newton, George W. & Marion A.) Mary E., Lucy Ann (grandmother) and Henry Caleb were not listed in the article.
