Many of my Dison relatives still reside in Clay Co. (Hatchet Cr area). Am still seeking to fill some holes. I'm descended through William Isaac>William T>Miles Pink> Miles Pierce>Bessie Dison. We have 10 gens of Disons on file. Perhaps we can link up & fill voids. I'm specifically trying to determine where R.L. Dison, who married N.E. Bearden on 12/15/1889 in the Idaho community, fits on our family tree.

I have not been able to locate the parents of Thomas B. Dison, who married Isabella Munroe in CLay County, AL in late 1800's. He purchased land off Highway 18, on what is now Bolton Road. Do you have him in your data base?

My g2gfather, Thomas S. JORDAN / JOURDEN / JOURDAN, and his wife, Mary, adopted a little girl, Mary DISON / DYSON, b. 1876. Apparently they did not legally adopt her, since she kept the surname DISON / DYSON.

In 1876, Thomas, Mary and the children moved from Opelika to Coosa County, AL, and in 1878, they moved to Ashland. I have no idea when or where they adopted Mary.

The 1880 census for Ashland, Clay Co AL; Stamped page 69; 03 Jun 1880; Asst Marshall J F Cole; Dwelling #58; Family #58:

JORDAN Thomas., W M 48 Married Printer GA GA GA
Mary, W F 42 wife married KH GA GA GA
Joseph W., W M 20 son printer AL GA GA
Willis (William) D., W M 18 son printer AL GA GA
DISON Mary J., W F 4 adopted AL AL AL

Mary DISON / DYSON m. Robert L. Thurman in 1893 in Ashland, at the home of T. G. W. Jordan.

Does anyone know who her birth parents were?

Carol

This has always been a poser to me. She is one of 4 Dison women I've never been able to connect--namely a D.A. Dison who m. a John W. Brooks in 1879, Della Dison of Coleta who m. Levi S. Blair in 1896, & R.I. Dison, dau of R.L. Dison, who m. G.W. Ballard in 1897. There are also two unknown Dison males: G.W. Dison m. D.A. Horn in 1873, and Thomas B. Dison who m. Isabella Munroe in 1877. All of these took place in Clay Co

Sorry, I'm not familiar with either. William Isaac Dison is the closest I get. More details have been e-mailed to you.

Anybody related to an Eli Dison, lived in Clay County Alabama around 1865 or so. Lived near Mary Lakey Bryant during the Civil War.

Any info would be appreciated.
