This post is two-sided. First, I am looking for any information I can find on Nathaniel Welcher, any other descendants, or his ancestors. All I know is that he was the father of William Giles Welcher, born June 26, 1836 in Newark, New Jersey. I don't have any information on Nathaniel other than his name on William's military records.

Second, I am searching for the descendants of Sherman Grant Welcher, born September 1, 1866 in either Bristow or Farley, Iowa, & married Elsie Stone in about 1872, in Iowa(we think). Sherman was a twin, whose twin brother's name was Grant Sherman (my great-grandfather). Any help I can get on either or both of these people would be greatly appreciated. I have some slightly conflicting information from a couple of different sources on Sherman's kids. The children I have listed are:
Grace Margaret McKinney (stepdaughter) born about 1893 in Iowa
Wanda ?? born about 1914, in Iowa
Grant B. (supposedly adopted), born about 1921 in Iowa
Crystal Echo, born about 1906 in Iowa

The girls' names (except Wanda) are shown in different orders in different censuses - ie: Echo instead of Crystal, etc. The daughter named Wanda was only ever mentioned in one source, so no idea where she came from. Grant B. was last seen in the 1920 census, living with Grace & her husband in Amboy, Cottonwood County, Minnesota, but I have not been able to find anything of him in the 1930 census at all - but that census doesn't show members of my Welcher family that I knew were living & where they lived at that time, either.
