Hope you are still there. I have a Charles Speed married to Jean Doyel (le/al/etc) in Southampton Co. VA in 1788. Jean's father or uncle witnesses a will for a Robert Speed in 1790, so this Charles may be son of Robert.

Any connections or other information here?

I don't know if this applies but I found this name in some blueprints at a near-by abandoned house (Charles Speed). The abandoned house is in Miami, FL.
