Morrelle Hendrix Roley

My g-grandparents: Thomas Henry Roley married Morelle Hendrix 29 Jan 1880 in Monroe county. On the 1880 census Morelle is listed as 20 years old. I think her parents were Martin & Mary Ellen Hendrix; however, Morelle is not listed in their household on the 1870 census, and on the 1860 census Martin & Mary Ellen have a daughter Martha age 1 year old.

Are Martin & Mary Ellen truly Morelle's parents? Is Martha & Morelle the same (I believe I have seen her name listed somewhere as Morelle M. Hendrix)?

Thanks for any info. Ken Johnson - kenjohnson1957@cs.com

Is Thomas Roley related to J.J. Roley who married Mary Ellen Fore b. 1849, daughter of Richard Nelson Fore and Harriet Ann Andress in Monroe County, AL on 12-31-1876 at Harriet's home with Asa Parker as security and J.F. White officiating? Mary Ellen would be my great grandfather Daniel Webster Fore's sister.

J.J. (John J.) & Thomas Henry Roley are indeed brothers, sons of John & Jane Roley of Monroe County. John & Jane had 11 children, John J. is the 2nd, Thomas is the 3rd. Do you know where John J. & M.E. are buried?

I am unable to answer your question. My response to the previous query is based on knowledge of the Hendrix line.
Sorry.

Glenda:

I know that we have chatted before about some other family lines -- Wilson and Johnson (Baldwin County, AL), Godwins, Mannings, etc. But William Malcom Roley was the brother of my grandmother Elmina Roley Howell Mobley Warren (3 husbands). He died in 1935 -- well before my time, but Aunt Dora died in 1968 and I remember her quite well. I have a good bit of info on them -- marriage record, death certificates, obits, etc. Plus a copy of the book written by their daughter Clara. Feel free to contact me directly.
